James Heller เดินทางกลับมาจากสงครามตะวันออกกลางมาสู่เมืองที่มีแต่ความวุ่นวายเพราะเป็นห่วงภรรยาและลูกของเขาที่อยู่ที่นี่

แต่เจมส์ก้พบเพียงแต่ร่างไร้วิญญาณของภรรยาและลูกสาวสุดที่รัก เขาเกิดความเคียดแค้นขึ้นมาก เขาเคียดแค้น Blackwatch ที่ปกป้องประชาชนไม่ได้

และแน่นอนคนที่เขาเคียดแค้นมากที่สุดคงไม่พ้น Alex Mercer ที่เป็นต้นเหตุของความสูญเสียทั้งหมด

Alex Mercer พูดจบก้จัดการแทงจ่าเจมส์จนไวรัสเข้าสู่เจมส์ เฮลเลอร์ จ่า James Heller ถูกนำศพไปทดลองโดย Gentek หลังจากตรวจสอบว่าร่างกายของเขา

สามารถเข้ากับไวรัสได้อย่างดีจึงได้ทำการทดลองต่อไป …

1 ปีต่อมาเจมส์กลับสู่สมรภูมิอีกครั้งเพื่อไล่ล่า Blackwatch และจัดการกับ Alex Mercer จนกระทั่งในภารกิจนึงเค้าได้พบกับ Alex Mercer (ในฉากแรกของเกม)
